Referrals

Referrals treated by InHealth Endoscopy can be received from:

• A GP (i.e referred directly to InHealth)

• A hospital Trust (i.e. transferred to InHealth      to support reducing a waiting list)

The types of referrals are typically for symptomatic patients requiring diagnostic endoscopy.

Our lists are normally booked to the standard JAG approved 12 points per session, 1 point of activity corresponds to a 15-minute appointment slot.

Sites

InHealth is the only provider in the UK to provide fully staffed, equipped, CQC registered endoscopy mobile units, a number of which are JAG accredited.

Our units are located in easily accessible community settings.

InHealth Endoscopy currently operates in 8 static sites around the country, as well as a fleet of purpose-built mobile units.

For more information on the location of our sites, see below.

Equipment

Olympus (290 series) endoscopic equipment is used at all our sites.

At InHealth, we predominantly use trans-nasal endoscopes for OGD procedures.  We strongly believe in the benefit of trans-nasal and our NED data supports this.  77% of our OGD patients do not require sedation (vs the 44% NHS average).

A paediatric colonoscope is available at all sites which can be used to improve negotiating tight angulation in rectosigmoid junction to obtain adequate views and further assess lesion including photo documentation.

Reporting

We use a range of endoscopy reporting systems:

Our sites in Preston, Cirencester and Manchester use Unisoft.

In Bristol, Witney, Bicester, Braintree, Ipswich, Peterborough, and Romford we use Endobase.

Our mobile units use the reporting system provided by the Trust.
