InHealth Reporting award celebrates academic achievement in clinical reporting

As part of the ongoing commitment to training and developing Radiographer Reporting, InHealth Reporting are proud to have recently presented the InHealth Award for Academic Achievement in Clinical Reporting – Musculoskeletal, to Rebecca Melling, Plain Film Reporting Radiographer at St Helens and Knowlsley NHS Trust.

The award programme, which is approved by the College of Radiographers, was designed in partnership with Canterbury Christ Church University and has been running for more than 5 years, recognising the hard work and dedication of students who are studying the Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Reporting.

This unique initiative has championed the tenacity and drive of Radiographers, recognising them as displaying the formative characteristics of future clinical and operational leaders. In addition to acknowledging their commitment to a year of academic and clinical study, often fraught with the challenges of balancing full-time practice, study and their home lives; InHealth continues to support their clinical development post-qualification and throughout their seminal years.

Drawing on our access to national clinical expertise via our vast reporting network, InHealth Reporting have delivered ongoing training content, reporting feedback and more, giving them the contemporary tools they need to be both well-equipped and impactful in their new careers.

On receiving her certificate and award, Rebecca said: “The MSK reporting course at Canterbury Christ Church University was a fantastic opportunity for me to develop my anatomical knowledge and interpretational skills, while producing a concise and accurate report. The ongoing support I received over the duration of the course from Ian Sutton and Natasha Benson at STHK was brilliant. Thank you to InHealth for sponsoring this award and recognising that Reporting Radiographers are highly valued within the NHS and fundamental to the ever-improving patient pathway”.

Claire Donaldson, Immediate Past President and Chair of UK Council, said: “Radiographers make up the largest workforce in imaging and I really support ongoing Radiographer practice and development. It’s been so great to hear about all the fantastic things that have taken place over the last year. Often, when you’re in the thick of it, it’s easy to lose sight of just how much has been achieved, so for Rebecca, she should be really proud of herself – a very well-deserved award“.
