Last month, our Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Screening programme delivered the first ever public, mass screening event in the country.

Held at Queens Park Rangers (QPR) Football and Athletic Club, the event was a major success with almost 100 men being scanned and QPR offering future collaborations!

This unique health event demonstrated the great relationship between the North and South AAA Team, and the NHS, to provide healthcare to those who have impaired physical mobility and learning difficulties in the Hammersmith & Fulham area. It also gave trainees the opportunity to scan more clients than in a ‘normal’ clinic and for the Clinical Skills Trainers (CSTs) to work with the Screening Technicians and students, making it a true team effort!

Patients were very satisfied with the service, finding it friendly, efficient and quick, and the QPR staff went above and beyond on the day, with feedback including:
