This Saturday 7th May, males aged 65 and over will be able to attend a free health screening appointment at Queens Park Rangers Football Club, as part of a nationwide drive to deliver more Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Screening appointments across the country.
Aneurysms cause over 3,000 deaths in England every year if left untreated, so this programme will provide vital services and help to detect potential problems much earlier.
The NHS-led programme is being delivered by InHealth, the UK’s only independent healthcare provider of AAA Screening in the country and is the first of its kind to be held in a public football stadium, designed to make healthcare even more accessible for men who are most at risk of this condition.
Located at the Queen Park Rangers (QPR) Football Stadium, the event will be attended by men who have been invited via NHS letter, where they will attend a short screening appointment, run by expert clinical teams, who provide a simple, free and painless ultrasound scan of their abdomen to look for an aneurysm, with results being shared straight away.
Chrissy Zelenyanszki, Head of Screening of Prevention for InHealth said: “We are thrilled to be collaborating with the NHS to deliver this unique health event, which will be the first of many and is centred around improving accessibility across the region to these life-savings services. This event is a great example of how our long-standing relationship with the NHS continues to support people to improve their health and wellbeing, make positive lifestyle changes and provide healthcare to those who have impaired physical mobility.”
If you are a male aged over 65 years old and have received an invitation, please attend. Screening helps save lives.
